Tracking Real Results
At EffectUs Athletics, we don’t rely on guesswork. We use objective data to track how athletes move, perform, and improve over time—using our OVR performance assessment system.
What the OVR System Is (Simple Overview)
The OVR system is a set of performance testing tools designed to give objective data on how an athlete moves, produces force, and performs.
At its core, OVR is about measuring performance, not guessing it.
It uses devices (jump sensors, timing gates, velocity trackers) to collect real-time data on things like speed, power, acceleration, and strength output.
All of this data is stored and tracked so coaches can monitor progress over time.
The 3 Main Parts of OVR
1. OVR Sprint (Speed & Agility)
Laser timing gates measure sprint times with high precision.
Used for tests like the 5-10-5 and Flying 10.
Gives insight into acceleration, max velocity, and change of direction.
2. OVR Jump (Power Output)
Measures vertical jump, broad jump (indirectly through power output), ground contact time, and reactive strength.
Helps assess explosiveness, elasticity (how “bouncy” an athlete is), and lower body power.
3. OVR Velocity (Strength & Power in the Weight Room)
Tracks bar speed during lifts.
Helps assess upper body power output and track strength progress without maxing out.
Why OVR Is Valuable (Big Picture)
1. Objective Data
Removes guesswork and shows exactly how an athlete is performing.
2. Track Progress Over Time
Athletes can clearly see improvements, which increases buy-in and consistency.
3. Identify Strengths and Weaknesses
Examples include being fast but not powerful, powerful but lacking speed, or having asymmetries between legs.
4. Improve Programming
Training becomes data-driven instead of random and can be tailored to the athlete’s specific needs.
Why It Works So Well for Teens
Immediate feedback increases engagement.
Data feels like a score or game through leaderboards and PRs.
Helps athletes connect effort to results: when they train well, their numbers improve.
Takeaway
OVR turns performance into measurable data so you can train smarter, track progress, and develop athletes more effectively.
STRENGTH
Your child will develop movement patterns that will make them less likely to get injured in sports.
